Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo, born February 20, 2003, is an American actress and singer-songwriter. She was first recognized for her leading roles in Disney's TV series Bizaardvark, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in the latter half of 2010, and she remains a Disney TV star today. Rodrigo made her mainstream debut by releasing "Drivers License" the first single she released. She signed with Interscope Records in 2020 and broke a number of records. After singles "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", Rodrigo released her debut solo studio album Sour (2021) with huge critical and commercial success. She was awarded three Grammy Awards. In 2022, she released Olivia Rodrigo, a Disney+ documentary about her creative process, Olivia Rodrigo. Driving Home 2 U followed. Rodrigo has been a Billboard Hot 100 Number-One Single, one Billboard 200 Number-One Album, and five multi-Platinum Certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. Alongside other awards she has also been awarded an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her the 2021 Entertainer of the Year, while Billboard declared her Woman of The Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was conceived at Rancho Springs Medical Center Murrieta in California to Jennifer Rodrigo and Chris Rodrigo. [3][4][5][6] She lived and grew up in neighboring Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and a German mother. [6][9][10] It has been stated by Rodrigo that her paternal greatgrandfather moved from the Philippines to America as an adolescent. Her family still follows Filipino traditions and food. Rodrigo learned to sing in the kindergarten years. She was enrolled in acting and singing classes from the age of six. Then she began acting in theater productions at elementary school. [5][13] Rodrigo started playing guitar when she was 12 years old. [12] She grew up listening to her parents' favorite alternative rock songs, such as the groups No Doubt, Pearl Jam and the White Stripes, and Green Day. Rodrigo became interested in songwriting after listening to country music, especially American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. 14 years old, she moved from Brazil to Los Angeles following her audition for Bizaardvark.
