Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts. As the only U.S. female gymnast, Biles was one of the few to win four gold medals at a single Games during the 2016 Olympics. She is also the first person to win three consecutive world championships. Biles along with the younger of her sisters Adria were conceived from Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles the grandparents of Spring Texas (in the Houston region) and grew up in the Houston area. Simone was first drawn to the sport of gymnastics when she was just 6. The coach Aimee Borman invited her to Bannon's Gymnastix which was where they went for an outing. Biles took home a medal for vault as well as a gold medal on the floor gymnastics at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. The year 2011 saw her begin competing in elite levels of gymnastics competition. In less than two years, she dominated the sport. Biles was notable for her consistent performance, exuberant personality as well as the difficulty she encountered in the four events she competed in including vaulting, uneven bars and the balance beam.
